There's also a 330 version which is pretty spectacular. I'd second the option of taking a look at a used Historic, they're great guitars. I bought a new Epiphone Casino Coupe in 2016, then later got a Gibson Es-390 (basically same model as the Epiphone). From my personal experience it is the other way around. Unless you hunt out a long neck one (330L or post-'67 originals, and Casinos are pretty hard to come by in this configuration) the 16 fret neck join limits you a bit in terms of high fret access. Question Gibson ES-335 vs Epiphone ES - 335 QUESTION I have always wanted an ES-335. They do sound quite a bit different so it's worth trying both if you get the chance. They're a bit more feedback prone but as long as you can move around onstage it's usually possible to work around it. The 330 is my preference for gigging mainly due to the weight. Find many great new & used options and get the best deals for Used Epiphone Casino VS ES-335 -ish Hollow Body Peerless 2.8kg W/OHSC at the best online. 330s and Casinos have the spruce bit (rather than the more typical hollow body bracing) but no maple center. Here's the pickup cavity of my 355 showing the construction - the kerfed spruce parts make up the top and bottom then the maple block is simple rectangle in the middle. One way the Historics differ from the standards is the spruce part is quarter sawn Adirondack. The center block on a 335 is spruce and maple - the models that used chromite were the ES135 and Chet Atkins Gretsch-alikes.
